Time to get back on the computer and visit my friends.
for me.
Here's wishing for a wonderful weekend for you and yours too!

Today was my weekly early morning trek to the county seat to take Klara to her morning of preschool. She was a bit clingy today and I worried that she was going to have a meltdown. However, she did well and I was proud of her. She hasn't felt 100% the past couple of days and that might be the problem. I don't think it is anything serious, just the sniffles.
After I dropped her off at preschool, I took Will and we went to the local restaurant for our normal Friday morning breakfast. It's funny because the regulars are starting to recognize the trend and remember us from the week before. There is one older man who always is so happy to see Will and just talks to him and smiles. All of the people in this restaurant are vintage West Virginians. Today, I enjoyed just sitting in the booth and listening to the two older gentlement behind me commentate about CNN, which was on the TV on the wall.
But the funniest part about these men was their interactions with the waitress. She went to their table and engaged them in lively conversation. "Frank" informed the waitress that when he got home there was going to be a woman show up who was going to tell him to take his clothes off! She chuckled a bit and asked him if it was his wife he was referring to. "No," says Frank, "it's the bath aid that comes to help me get cleaned up." He seemed to be disabled and wasn't able to walk really well.
He followed this up with, "I don't need a bath aid, though!" The waitress totally reassured him that bath aides were wonderful people and it is nice to have someone to help you when you need it. He made sure to point out he was not one of these people.
Every Friday morning when we go there for breakfast, the waitress usually turns on Nickelodeon for Will and let's him watch Spongebob. Normally, there aren't a lot of people around so it doesn't matter. But, this morning, there were many older folks watching CNN and there was not going to be any Spongebob Squarepants for Mr. Will. It is funny how someone that young (21 mos old) remembers things like this! He pointed at the TV and hollared, "Ponge Baaahhh!!!" He didn't understand why he wasn't getting the royal treatment this morning! It was cute.
I then took myself to the Dollar Tree to forage for deals. I absolutely LOVE the Dollar Tree. First of all, I am really cheap. Second of all...well...there is no second of all. I'm just cheap.
As I was foraging I kept running into this lady who had two little boys with her. One was fourish and the other was oneish. Finally, we began talking and stood in the aisle for ten minutes or more running our jibs. It seems she has four children and stays at home with them & is in desperate need of adult interaction. I assured her I was in the same boat! We completed our conversation when the babies began getting impatient and whining, but not before we exchanged phone numbers. I hope I can add a new flower to the garden soon!
It was then time to enter the money sponge that is Walmart. I still maintain that place puts something in the air when you first walk in that makes you forget what you are there for and promotes wandering around and buying items you don't need. It's quite clearly a trap.
I ran into a few people I know there, including one lady from my church. It's so nice to finally feel a part of the community we have adopted as our home six years ago. It takes such a long time to get to the point where you recognize folks and have them recognize you back.
Klara's speech therapy, later in the afternoon, went well. She not only can make the "k" sound now, but she can use it in a few vowel blends (like ik, ak, uk, etc). So much progress made in just one hour this week! I am so proud of her.
Jared brought me home the cutest frog he made in art class today. It is a frog cut out that he colored green and it has a pink tongue glued to it's mouth that curls up like he's going to catch a fly. Adorable!
Rich is doing well and enjoying his days off from work. No particular plans for this weekend, except for our church picnic on Sunday. Church picnics ROCK!
Overall, today was a great day. The mail man even commented that I was all smiles today. When he asked me why, I just said the first thing that came to mind, "I'm just happy to be here!" What else can be any better than to be at your home with a wonderful family, great neighbors, and being able to have such a nice morning out? I hope you all have a great weekend!
